Why it matters to West End
For people using the Kurilpa Peninsula, the relevant questions extend beyond the site: how the river edge connects, where walking and cycling routes lead, and how surrounding streets and infrastructure change.
EDQ says the plan requires continuous public riverfront access and active transport connections. Provisions added after consultation also address coordinated improvements on adjoining land, including streetscapes and infrastructure.
What happens next?
EDQ identifies detailed planning and investigations as the next stage, including public space, transport and flood resilience. Detailed proposals require assessment against the plan.
School capacity, housing diversity and cultural identity were among the consultation themes. Their inclusion in feedback should not be read as a delivery date or a funded project commitment.
